Thule The Stacker Rooftop Kayak Carrier Review - 2014 Toyota Prius v- Video
Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we're gonna talk about how the Thule The Stacker kayak carrier fits on the 2014 Toyota Prius v. This is actually my car and I was very surprised to see how many kayaks I could fit on top of the car. So, I'll tell you what I did to make this happen, what are the dimensions and how to tie it down properly. So the roof rack I have on the Prius v is the Inno Aero roof rack with the 54 inch long crossbars and the Through feet. So you can use this with other types of crossbars too, if your crossbars are not longer than 54 inches though or if you have kayaks that are wider than mine this might not work out as well for you. more

Kuat Class 4 V2 Kayak Carrier Review - 2021 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer.com. And today we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat Class 4 J-Style Kayak Carrier here on our 2021 Toyota 4Runner. Now, personally I really like J-style kayak carriers in general, just because of the way they hold the kayak. Upright like this leaving more space on your roof for other accessories whether it be a second kayak, a basket, a box, anything that you might wanna put up there, you're gonna have that extra room on the crossbars to put it. In addition, I feel like the J-style kayak carrier holds it really solid as well, everything's cradled in there really nicely, and with all the really nice straps included with this, everything is held in really solid. more

Now this J-style kayak carrier, as you can see, is gonna hold our boat in this more upright position. Now for me, I really like J-style because I feel like it gets a really good hold on the boat. It's kind of cradled into the carrier here, and you can store more on your roof. more

Now the JayLow is gonna be a more premium option in the world of J-style kayak carriers. I really like it, I think it's gonna hold the boat really well. In general, I like J-style a lot better, just because I feel like it gets a really good hold on the boat. And because you are hauling it more upright like this, it leaves more roof space open for another kayak or potentially even a box or a basket. more

Kuat Class 4 V2 Kayak Carrier Review - 2015 Kia Sorento- Video
Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today, we'll be taking a look at our Kuat Class 4 V2 Kayak Carrier on our 2015 Kia Sorento. What we have here is gray, we can also get it in black. With its raised rails and good roof size, the Kia Sorento was a great option as the vehicle to carry our kayaks to the water. Now, we brought out a bunch of different kayak carriers onto the Sorento, and the Kuat Class 4 V2 Kayak Carrier is probably one of my favorites for the mid-range price point, that's because there's a lot of fun features there, making it easier for you to strap down your kayak, but also creating a nice, stable surface, so we'll talk about that, but we're gonna focus on our vehicle, so you can see how it works with it. So the way this mounts to your vehicle is you need to have crossbars and a roof rack system, if you don't already have one for your Sorento, get one, you can find it here on our fit guide at etrailer.com. Now, this will fit most of your crossbars and roof rack systems, because it has straps and clamps, but it also has a T-track kit included with your carrier. more

Hey, everyone, Charles here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the etrailer J-style kayak carrier on our 2015 Mazda CX5. This is gonna be a great way of transporting your kayak to and from your destinations. You're gonna have a weight capacity of up to 150 pounds. And what I like about the J-style kayak carriers is you have all this leftover space on your crossbars. These are 46 inch crossbars, and we're gonna have about 31 and a half of usable, leftover crossbar space, so plenty of room for another kayak, cargo basket or any other rooftop accessory. I really like that this carrier provides all the straps you're gonna need and you're not gonna have to pay for anything extra. more

Rhino Rack Watersport Carriers Review - 2022 Subaru Outback Wagon- Video
Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Rhino-Rack J-Style Kayak Carrier on a 2022 Subaru Outback Wagon Wilderness. These are gonna be great for transporting a kayak as well as saving a lot of room in your cross bars for more accessories, like a cargo basket, another kayak, maybe even a bike. It's gonna be made out of steel, so it's gonna be very durable, lasts a long time. It's also finished with a black powder coat making it corrosion and rust resistant as well. The kayaks sit on these foam pads and this is a hard rubber down here at the bottom and it just keeps it protected, free from any scratches or anything like that. The buckles that tie down your kayak are gonna be coated in this rubber material, so if you are a little bit shorter than me and need the buckle over here, you can have that peace of mind knowing that it's not gonna scratch up your kayak as well. more

Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer, And today we're taking a look at the Kuat Class 2 kayak carrier on the 2020 Chevrolet Equinox. This is your J-style kayak carrier. It is great for freeing up space on your roof rack so you can carry another kayak or your bikes. It's gonna be made out of a lightweight aluminum construction with a black powder coat finish so it's gonna be rust resistant and corrosion resistant as well. It is mounted by these 2 wing nuts and a padded bar right here, and it does fit most of your factory cross bars as well as your arrow shape, your square, even your round bars. It is a fixed J-style, so it's not gonna have the folding features as some of the other kayak carriers. more

Everyone, Charles here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier on the 2020 Chevrolet Equinox. So these are your J-Style kayak carriers. It's gonna be perfect for freeing up extra space on your roof rack so that you can carry other kayaks or your bikes or anything like that. One thing that I do like about this is the assistance that we have here to place our kayak on and just slide it in there as well as the rubberized grooves on the inside where your kayak rests and they do have some grooves in there just for some added traction as well for your kayaks. Another thing to note is that these fit really flush on these aero bars right here. It almost gives it a factory look cause there's not any nuts and bolts hanging off. more

So if you guys are looking for a way of getting your kayak wherever your destination might be taking you, well this is gonna be a great little option for you. Why I like it It is a very decent carrier, gonna get you a lot of those features you might start seeing in some of your more premium carriers, and I'm a really big fan of the strap kit that comes with this guy. Honestly, we try to pump it to a lot of the other Kayak carriers out there because you're getting a lot of just decent fabric here. I love the protection we get on our cam buckles, things like this little felt protection on them, protecting your kayak and the roof of your vehicle, which is great, but honestly the anchors that make this a lot easier to get in the hood and the back hatch of your vehicle, really make it awesome for itself. more

So you may need to load kayaks up onto your Toyota Forerunner, but the thing about this larger car is that you have a little bit more height, and you need to get up onto in order to load your kayak. So what may happen is you may need a load assist. So I have here, our Moki doorstep, I'm stepping on a stool, but we also have a load assist device that is designed exactly for our Malone Downloader kayak carrier. more

Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we are taking a look at our Yakima DeckHand rear loading, saddle style kayak here, right here on our 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. So this is a saddle style, rear loading kayak here. So what that means is the saddle style is supporting your bolt holes. So this is as close as you're going to get to a conformed fit to your bolt hole compared to any other style of kayak carrier. Now, this does take up a little bit more space on your crossbars. So if you are limited on crossbar space and you want to carry multiple kayaks, this might not be the best option for you, but if you're just carrying a single or you have a space for two of your bigger boats, this is probably a good fit for you. more

So this style of a kayak carrier is great for when you want to kind of take care of your kayak if you're not kind of comfortable with a J style kayak carrier where it sits on its side, or if you're a fan of the rear loading way of loading your kayak, and you want to use those load assist devices that help with that, this is a great partner for that. So this has a 75 pound weight capacity which is good for your slightly heavier kayaks. Since it is a saddle style, it holds it by the whole of your hull of your boat or your kayak. more

Today, we're going to be checking out The Rhino Rack, j-style kayak carrier kit, with extension arm, which means you're going to be able to hold two kayaks on here now, on our 2017 Kia Forte 5. The nice thing about this being a kit is that if you already have the kayak carrier, the j-style one, you can just get the arms and add it to it, and it'll work together. If you need everything, you can buy the kit and you'll get both of them included. Now one of the reasons this kit is so great, as you can see, on this smaller vehicle with the smaller bars, both of those kayaks fit right next to each other. Normally, if you had two different j-style kayak carriers on there, they'd have to be spread out a little bit more because they're going to lean in and that's going to take up most of, if not all, of the space on your bars. more

Hey, everybody, welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby, and today we're taking a look at the Yakima JayLow J-Style Kayak Carrier here today on our 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Now guys, if you're looking a way of getting your kayak to your destination, of course the first thing is gonna be getting a roof rack system. Today we are working on the exposed rack, so we do have somewhat of more of a ill fit, I would say, than we potentially would want. However the JayLow is still doing a very decent job of getting our kayak up on there and giving ourselves a solid base to go ahead and transport our kayaks wherever we need them to go. So you are getting these straps included as well with 'em so that becomes nice, you're not having to make an extra purchase. more

Now it's gonna be a nice little way of going ahead and giving yourself a decent way of carrying your kayaks to wherever your destination might be taking you. With 150 pounds of weight capacity, I don't think we're going to have any trouble getting our kayaks, and maybe even your stand up paddle boards, up in here. Now, personally, this is going to do a way better job of carrying your kayaks, if you really do want to start carrying those standup paddle boards, saddle style just tends to be a little bit better. more
